THE FORUM IN SAN FELIX DE LAUREGAIS
12th-14th May, 2017
“LIBERTY, EQUALITY, FRATERNITY TROUGH LOVE”
In 2017 is the 850th anniversary of the first council of the Bogomils and Cathars from 1167 in San Felix de Caraman (nowadays called San Felix de Lauregais), France. At that event the Bulgarian Bogomil leader – Papa Nikita – delivered a historical speech, that turned into a call for the spiritual unification of all Bogomil and Cathar communities in Europe. On that occasion with our French partners from “Bulgares en Pays d’Autan” we decided to organize from 12-14th May, 2017 an International Forum in San Felix under the title “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity through Love”. We got the full support from the Mayor of San Felix Mr. Andre Rey who is offering us the city conference hall for the theoretical symposium, as well as the castle where the historical council took place for exhibits, concert and meetings. Renown lecturers from France, Holland, Great Britain, Slovenia, Spain and Bulgaria confirmed their participation. There are going to be 3 art exhibits of the famous Bulgarian artists Pavel Mitkov, Sarmena Stantcheva and the sculptor Asen Botev; 2 photo exhibits of Philippe Contal (France) and Ljubomir Krumov (Bulgaria), as well as a concert with Occitaine, Troubadur and Balkan music; a folk show by a Bulgarian Folk dance group from Toulouse. The brilliant French dancer Fabienne Courmont will do a dance performance in the castle.
THE GOAL:
In commemoration of the 850th anniversary of the Cathar/Bogomil council of 1167 in San Felix to examine the council from a historical and cultural perspective and reissue in contemporary terms the main idea of the council as a contribution to the spiritual unification of Europe.
